Serve At Sojourn

WHY WE SERVE

Jesus is the head of the church, and we are the body. As the church, we are the extension of Christ to this earth. Through Christ, we have been loved abundantly, therefore we are able to love others (1 John 4:19). From this place of abundant grace, we are free to serve others in humility, like Jesus did. Just as Jesus was filled by the Holy Spirit for ministry, the Spirit empowers us with various giftings to build up the church and spread the hope of Christ to others.

Ways to Serve

Join a Sunday Serve Team

Each Sunday, we have several crucial teams that work to create an inviting and hospitable space for us to gather and for newcomers to see, hear, and experience Jesus. These teams include Coffee, Greeters, Communion, Prayer, Parking, Audio-Visual,  Worship, and our Greeting Team!

Love on our Children in Sojourn Kids

With an ever-expanding Children's ministry, we’re always looking for more volunteers to shepherd and mentor our kids. Before you disqualify yourself from this role, we have witnessed first hand that with the vast array of children in Sojourn Kids, we need a wide variety of personalities and different walks of life to reach these children. We’d love to have you serve on this team and invest in our children’s future!

Local Outreach

At Sojourn, our love for our neighbors looks like serving our local community. Our Local Outreach Team's goal is to organize and equip our Body to serve our community. Our mission is to love, serve, and meet the needs of those around us; strengthening families, sharing the gospel, and healing the broken.

We have many ways to plug into different ministry areas.  We collaborate with local social workers to provide support to our schools, we support our local Atlanta Angels Chapter-- supporting Foster Families in our area, and we come alongside local ministries like The Table on Delk and First Care Women's Clinic to provide support to vulnerable women.  We are also a part of the Cobb Benevolence Group, which consists of local churches and social workers collaborating with various ministries to meet urgent needs like food shortages, shelter, and support.

Because Christ first loved us, we desire to meet tangible needs and support those around us.
